The Xenia was developed in such a way that the appearance and results are convincing. The machine is durable, practical and uncomplicated to use, and the consistency of the coffee extractions makes it easy to enter the world of portafilter machines. Here is an overview of what we have thought about and implemented:
Temperature
Stability
Temperature stability is a big issue in the world of espresso. The Xenia is designed to keep the temperature very constant and reliable and we have demonstrated this in well-documented measurement series.

That's why the Xenia is rightly considered one of the most temperature-constant machines in the home sector. This is achieved by the special design of the machine: e.g. the special heat exchanger and a turbulator in the brew group. Of course we are proud of that.

Nevertheless, the brewing temperature is easily adjustable. Even the basic setting works absolutely perfectly for most roasts.

Heat
Exchanger
Why follow the usual concept and leave water standing in a heat exchanger? Because it is better to only pump water into the heat exchanger when it is actually needed.

– This means that fresh water is used with every coffee extraction (shot).
– You avoid the splashing of the waste water and the loss of time during the cooling flush.
– The temperature curves of the shots are significantly more stable.

Milk Froth
You can take your time here and extract first. In this mode, the temperature curve is very stable—a quality feature with which the Xenia has become so well known. In a short waiting time, you can get the milk and cups ready and then start frothing.

But of course it can also be done at the same time—for this there is the Cappuccino mode at the touch of a button, in which the Xenia functions like any other 2-circuit machine and heats while brewing and foaming.

Channeling
At the beginning, this is an issue that can cause headaches. In almost all cases, it is a question of the grinder setting and tamping.

Nevertheless, we have given a lot of thought to how we can constructively achieve a very even distribution of the water.

A specially developed diffuser in the brew group distributes the water evenly over 16 channels even before the screen, ensuring the best conditions for a good espresso.

Heating Time
Many people shy away from the long and necessary heating time of most espresso machines, which is usually around 30 minutes. Here, too, we have developed a solution.

Depending on the additional heating, you can get your first really good espresso after just 10 minutes. We have measured, tested and proven this. You can switch off the machine between extractions without worrying about energy consumption.

Insulated Boiler
You can switch off the Xenia and save energy when you have finished your cappuccino or espresso—thanks to the powerful heating cartridges, it heats up again quickly.

In the case of the machine with an insulated boiler, the basic heat in the machine lasts for a very long time. The machine is then often ready for use again more quickly when it is switched on again after a longer period of time.

So it doesn't have to stay on all day and waste energy. This is what makes the Xenia so popular for home use and is good for the environment.

Sound Volume
You also want to enjoy conversation while brewing an espresso. The Xenia is very quiet. For example, the pump is mounted on thick rubber feet and decoupled from the rest of the machine via a PTFE hose to effectively dampen disruptive vibrations.

No one has to interrupt his conversation or cover his ears during the extraction.

Design
Everyone agrees on this: the machine looks beautiful and very elegant. So it is a welcome alternative to the usual machines.

Thanks to the individual configuration, everyone can design their Xenia exactly as they like it best. This is a unique selling point in its class.

Documen-
tation
Hardly any other manufacturer opens its development books and is as close to the customer with detailed information as Xenia Espresso GmbH. In addition to the technical documentation, the website also contains many explanations and tips for optimal use of the machine.

This not only helps with understanding, but also with small steps that you can easily do yourself—up to complete maintenance.

Factual, understandable and straight from the manufactory. There are no secrets. An extraordinary transparency that inspires confidence that the money for the machine is well spent. That is not a matter of course. —Or perhaps it is, at least in our opinion.

Workmanship
The machine has been developed with great attention to detail and, of course, this is also consistently implemented in the production process. You can see the result every day.

Eine Xenia hat man zum Zubereiten von Cappuccino und Espresso — zusätzlich sieht sie sehr hochwertig aus. Made in Germany eben.

Compactness
With its very compact external dimensions, you can always find a nice place for the Xenia. If you can't fill the tank from above due to overhead cabinets, then that's not a problem. Because that's why we designed the laterally sliding tank with contactless water level measurement — a useful feature that is really rare.

Kaffeenetz.de
The machine was developed from 2012 to 2014. It was first produced as a prototype and then presented on www.kaffenetz.de.

Subsequently, it was discussed with the members of the Forum for more than a year. We have listened carefully and asked questions in order to better understand what users want from a machine for home use. Many of the good suggestions and ideas were actually tested and implemented in production.

Thus, the machine is well matured and went into production in summer 2016 to everyone's delight.
